Landing Page Psychology
Use this skill to turn landing page psychology into concrete page structure, conversion copy, visual hierarchy, and audit feedback.
Required Reference
Read references/landing-page-psychology-principles.md before any full landing page audit, rewrite, wireframe, section plan, or conversion review.
Use the reference as the source of truth for the nine principles:
- Serial position effect
- Von Restorff effect
- Cognitive load theory
- Social proof cascading
- Anchoring bias
- Completion bias
- Loss aversion framing
- Halo effect
- Choice reduction
Workflow
- Identify the page's single primary conversion action.
- Map the current or proposed page into hero, immediate proof, feature/details, deeper proof, objection handling, and final CTA.
- Check every section against the nine principles in the required reference.
- Recommend concrete changes to copy, order, CTA treatment, proof placement, numbers, visual polish, and choice count.
- Keep advice specific to the page, product, audience, and conversion goal.
Output Rules
- For audits, lead with the highest-impact fixes and tie each finding to a principle.
- For new pages, produce a section-by-section structure with suggested copy direction and proof requirements.
- For copy rewrites, preserve the user's offer and make the CTA, anchor, pain framing, and proof sharper.
- Avoid generic CRO advice unless it is directly connected to one of the nine principles.
- Do not drop principles from a full-page review; if a principle does not apply, say why briefly.
