Why Depositphotos Downloader

Depositphotos offers a massive library of stock content spanning photos, editorial images, vector illustrations, video footage, and royalty-free music. Downloading purchased assets from the platform typically involves navigating to each item individually, selecting a license size or format, and waiting for the file to prepare. When working on projects that pull from dozens or hundreds of stock assets, this repeated workflow adds up quickly.

Depositphotos Downloader is being built to reduce that friction. The extension will detect Depositphotos pages in the active tab, surface relevant download options in a compact popup, and handle file retrieval in the background so you can keep browsing the marketplace. The goal is to let creative professionals spend more time choosing the right assets and less time managing the mechanics of getting those files onto their hard drive.

Planned Features

  • One-click downloading of licensed photos and illustrations from asset pages
  • Vector file export with format selection for AI, EPS, and SVG where available
  • Stock video clip retrieval at the resolution tier matching your license
  • Music and sound effect downloads linked to your active subscription
  • Batch download queue for saving multiple assets without switching tabs
  • Automatic file naming based on asset metadata such as title, contributor, and ID
  • Download history panel to track what has already been saved in a session
  • Cross-browser compatibility targeting Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox

How It Will Work

  1. Install the extension from your browser's extension store once it is released.
  2. Log in to your Depositphotos account in the browser.
  3. Browse the Depositphotos marketplace and find assets you have licensed or plan to license.
  4. Open the extension popup while viewing an asset page to see available download options.
  5. Select the file format and resolution that matches your project requirements.
  6. Add the asset to the download queue or start an immediate download.
  7. For batch operations, continue browsing and adding assets to the queue.
  8. Review completed downloads in the extension's history panel and locate saved files on disk.

Supported Asset Types

  • Photos: JPEG files at various resolution tiers from small web sizes to full original resolution
  • Vectors: AI, EPS, and SVG source files for scalable illustration and design work
  • Videos: MP4 and MOV clips ranging from preview quality to 4K depending on license level
  • Music: MP3 and WAV audio tracks for royalty-free background music and sound effects

All downloaded files will retain their original format as provided by the Depositphotos platform, ensuring compatibility with standard creative software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.

Who It's For

  • Graphic designers pulling stock photos and vectors into client projects on tight deadlines
  • Video editors sourcing B-roll footage and licensed music for productions
  • Marketing teams building asset libraries for campaigns across multiple channels
  • Bloggers and content creators who regularly license images for articles and social posts
  • Agencies managing large volumes of stock content purchases across multiple accounts

Use Cases We're Building For

  • Download a set of twenty licensed product photos for an e-commerce catalog refresh
  • Retrieve vector source files for icons and illustrations used in a brand identity project
  • Batch save video clips and background music tracks for a promotional video edit
  • Archive previously purchased assets to a local drive for offline access during travel
  • Quickly grab the highest available resolution of a photo without navigating through the Depositphotos download dialog

Security & Scope

  • Operates only on the page the user intentionally opens in the active browser tab
  • Detects supported playback sources only for user-initiated downloads or exports
  • Does not execute page instructions, shell commands, or arbitrary scripts from page content
  • Does not follow unrelated links or perform actions outside the active workflow
  • Limits support to the named platform, approved embedded contexts, and user-authorized sessions when required

About Depositphotos

Depositphotos is a global stock content marketplace founded in 2009, offering over 250 million royalty-free photos, vectors, editorial images, video clips, and music tracks. It serves creative professionals and businesses through subscription plans and on-demand credit purchases. The platform provides content through its website but does not offer a native browser tool for streamlined asset retrieval. Depositphotos Downloader is being built to fill that gap, giving users a faster path from browsing licensed content to having usable files saved locally on their machines.
