Why Dreamstime Downloader
Dreamstime hosts over 200 million stock assets including photographs, vector graphics, illustrations, editorial content, and video clips. When users purchase or license content on the platform, downloading those files often involves navigating through individual asset pages, selecting the correct resolution or license tier, and repeating the process for every item in a project batch. There is no native bulk download workflow built into the browser experience, and managing large volumes of licensed assets across different collections can become tedious.
Dreamstime Downloader is being built to sit directly in the browser and integrate with the Dreamstime website. The goal is to detect the assets available under your account, surface the correct licensed versions, and let you save them to your local machine without bouncing between tabs and download confirmation screens. It keeps the entire workflow inside the browser where you are already browsing and selecting content.
Planned Features
- One-click download of licensed stock photos at your purchased resolution
- Vector and illustration export in original file formats such as EPS and AI
- Editorial image downloads with associated license metadata preserved
- Video clip saving for licensed footage tied to your Dreamstime account
- Batch download mode for grabbing multiple assets from a collection page
- Automatic file naming based on asset title, ID, or contributor information
- License type tagging so you can sort assets by usage rights after download
- Cross-browser compatibility targeting Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox

- Editorial images: JPEG with embedded license metadata where available

All downloaded files will retain their original quality and format as supplied by the Dreamstime platform. No re-encoding or compression is applied by the extension.

Does it work with free Dreamstime assets? The extension is being designed primarily around licensed and purchased content tied to your account. Support for free assets may be considered depending on how Dreamstime structures access to them.
Will it download assets I have not purchased? No. The extension will only facilitate downloading assets that are already licensed or purchased under your Dreamstime account. It does not bypass any licensing restrictions.
