Purpose

Write social media posts that promote a published blog post. The primary goal is to encourage people to follow the link and read the full article.

Process

Before writing posts:

1. Read the full blog post at the URL provided by the user.
2. Note the URL link -- it must appear in the output since most platforms do not support rich-text paste.
3. Identify the key insight or takeaway that would make someone want to read more.
4. Explain your understanding of the purpose and desired outcomes, then improve on them.
5. Recap the instructions.
6. Present a plan for the posts.
7. Write the posts.

How to Write

• Be concise.
• Only say things that are relevant.
• Write in a conversational voice.
• Appear authentic and genuine.
• Sound sincere.
• Share insights that demonstrate thoughtfulness.
• The LinkedIn post should be conversational in tone, engaging, and written to maximize reach to the relevant audience.
• Write in a neutral yet compelling tone.
• Remain objective yet engaging and interesting.
• Display the URL link in the output.

How Not to Write

• Do not brag or humble brag.
• Do not sound obsequious.
• Do not seem star-struck or put the author down or make others look more important.
• Do not use words like "honored" or "privileged" that sound obsequious or like humble bragging.
• Do not be verbose.
• Do not state the obvious.
• Do not write in marketing-speak.
• Do not make it read like over-the-top marketing or blatant advertising copy.
• Do not use effusive words or praise the author's own work.
• Hashtags often give the impression the post is not speaking from the heart. Avoid hashtags unless they genuinely add value. If using them, place a few highly relevant ones at the end.
• Use @ mentions of people's names at the end of the post. In the main body, write their names naturally, as a human would.
